Tongue Tied By Grouplove
I am in love with the LA based group, Grouplove. The groups debut is titled, Never Trust A Happy Song and is sure to impress. With indie poppy funk and a Modest Mouse esque, Grouplove is fresh and make me want to fucking dance. I wanted to post this video of their performance for Spin magazine of the track “Tongue Tied” because I love how great they sound live. Check out the music videos as well as all of their music, period. Pick up the debut, I promise you will be lovin’ you some Grouplove.

album CoCo Beware
Thankful By Caveman
Brooklyn indie rockers Caveman are the prime example of the ‘Do It Yourself’ process. This group created a huge buzz around themselves, all starting from a local hole in the wall bar playing their demo constantly. Working off that buzz, the group held back releasing an album until this past September. Their decision proved to work in their favor, CoCo Beware was released to high praise. If you like good, spooky indie rock, I highly suggest Caveman.

Down By Summer Camp
Summer Camp is a London based duo made up of Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey. This group is an alternative pop group with a sound that is not entirely unfamiliar but still carries a raw, unique vibe. The music video for the track “Down,” is fun and odd all at the same time. I see big things coming from this group, be sure to check them out right away.

Berelain By PK
Hailing from San Luis Obispo, California comes indie powerpop rockers, PK. These boys have quite the resume, Rolling Stone magazine named them in the top 16 unsigned bands around and the group has created a huge buzz in their local scene. PK reminds me of a current day The Cure, while still mixing in raw emotion and production that grows with the modern music scene. Their LP Into The Roaring is out now and I suggest picking it up.

Next to Me by Sleeping at Last
Sleeping at Last has always had a special place in my heart. I can’t help but rep anybody with talent that came from NorCal. Even though they now make their home and sweet music in Illinois, us genius’ have to stick together. That’s right; these guys are lyrical and promotional Einsteins. This past year they began and completed a project called “Yearbook” in which the band wrote, recorded, and released 3 new songs every month for a year from October 2010 to September 2011. The result is 36 songs you NEED to check out. Just as we all go through a variety of experiences in one year, this project covers all different aspects and seasons of life gorgeously. With incredible honesty and melodies that will gently carry you through your own thoughts, this music reminds us all that whether times are good or bad, they can be expressed and enjoyed as something beautiful. Here is one of their more playful tracks from the October EP called “Next to Me”- Enjoy! And then explore the rest of the project at www.sleepingatlast.com!

album Vessels
Violent Red by Savannah
“I’m running circles inside my head. I’m running circles again, but you never understand..”
Hailing from Orlando, Florida comes rockers Savannah. The quartet’s debut EP, “Vessels,” is out now on Itunes and I suggest picking it up alone with their free downloads at purevolume.com. Think The Fray but rocking much harder. Sounds awesome, right?

Supernumerary by Vanaprasta
Vanaprasta is an indie rock group coming from LA. They formed in 2009 and released the EP Forming The Shapes, followed by a limited edition vinyl in 2010. The group’s eerie melodies fit smoothly with the raw vocals of Steven Wilkin. Fitting in some gut wrenched screams and harder rock riffs, Vanaprasta is possibly everything you have been looking for but haven’t found in an unsigned rock group.
